This summer, my wonderful grandpa passed away after a long battle with cancer. The Macmillan nurses were with him - and us - every step of the way, and could not have been more kind or helpful. Grandpa was a real water baby - one of his favourite hobbies was swimming and body-boarding in the sea - and I've been enjoying the delights of Letchworth outdoor pool all summer, so participating in the Macmillan lido challenge seemed apt.

Two km is a piddly amount in running terms, but 40 lengths of that giant pool is a lot (I usually do 25 of a morning), so please dig deep if you can! I promise awful photos of me in a swimming cap (and sincere gratitude) in exchange.
