Story
Thank you very much for popping in. On Saturday July 16 I'll be joining a team of footballing reprobates - optimistically calling ourselves AC A Little Silhouetto of Milan - in a 12-hour footy marathon on Clapham Common to raise money for Tackle Africa. My calf muscles may never be the same again.
Tackle Africa is a fantastic charity that raises money for HIV/AIDS awareness in six African countries - Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia - and the marathon has grown into its flagship event, raising £400,000 in the last five years.
To put what the charity can do into some sort of perspective, as little as £17 can educate 100 schoolchildren about HIV/AIDS. You can read more about Tackle Africa's work here: http://tackleafrica.org/highlights/what-we-do/
I'd be delighted and very grateful if you felt the impulse to sponsor me on what promises to be an exhausting but rewarding day. (And look out for our fetching azalia shirts on July 16 if you're in the Clapham Common area...)
Thanks very much!
Lawrence
