The tragic ‪#‎myCCUKstory‬ of 40-year-old Lawrence, told by Jessica...

“My partner Lawrence Wright died after complications from Crohn’s Disease. After two years of back and stomach pain, Lawrence was hospitalised and after two weeks found to have Crohn’s.

Due to damage in the large bowel and him vomiting blood, the doctors decided to do a bowel resection. All went well and he was to be discharged on the Friday, but he was still poorly and they decided to put him on IV antibiotics.

On Sunday night I had a phone call saying he had toxic shock and it was imperative that I get to the hospital as soon as possible. On Monday 18th August 2014, my Lawrence died at 10:18am due to multiple organ failure, he never woke up and we never got our goodbye.

The pain I feel is like no other and I am raising money in Lawrence's memory to raise awareness of this disease and try to prevent it from happening to anyone else.”
