The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  I am going to run the Edinburgh Marathon on 27th May 2012 and I have decided that my first marathon should support the excellent work of Guide Dogs UK.

As a dog owner, I gain a huge amount of enjoyment from sharing my life with an energetic and faithful companion.  Guide Dogs UK provide mobility and freedom to blind and partially sighted people through breeding and training guide dogs. It costs £50,000 to train a guide dog throughout its working life and any donations you give will go directly to Guide Dogs UK to help them fulfill its mission.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
