The 'Mind Over Ligaments' Run by Leigh Preston
I've finally finished a solo run from Land's End to John O'Groats. I've travelled 960 miles in 57 days (but not continuously as my knees wouldn't allow it!). Not bad for a 56 year old who is now knackered and permanently reeking of linament.
The run took me from Land's End, across Dartmoor, though Bristol, along canals to Stoke On Trent, into Derbyshire and along the Pennine Way. I then headed for Edinburgh and North across the Cairngorms, into Inverness and and then a long stretch along the A9 (why is it always up hill and against the wind?). I 'enjoyed' a variety of different kinds of rain, occasional sun and vigorous breezes that nearly lifted my 11 stone frame clear off the road.
Please donate as much as you can - it's bound to be easier than the running.
