Chris and John's Lands End to John o'Groats and back again · 1 June 2020

The UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, we've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, we provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

Story

We are Chris and John and we are taking on the LEJOGLE Cycle challenge,  Lands End to John O'Groats and back again, to raise funds for Combat Stress, a charity that provides life-changing mental health treatment to veterans.

Chris and John, both semi-retired, met when Chris joined one of John's personal training classes. They have been friends ever since, bonding over their shared love of sport and fitness.  John has taken on many  adventures in the past for charities, including cycling through the Pyrenees, canoeing from Anglesey to the Skerries, and cycling through England and Wales.

Chris proposed a new charity challenge of cycling LEJOGLE in early 2019 and they have been planning and preparing for this epic challenge ever since. Chris and John were moved by the commemorations of the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings and decided to raise funds for Combat Stress after seeing the Director of Fundraising being interviewed in Normandy by Sky News.
