Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. All my firends and family encouraged me to take on this project of a seven  day trek including the four day trek along the Inca Trail starting on 2nd October. Thank you to those who walked with me in the Summer.. Do go to Classicf FM's website www.classicfm.co.uk. Click on the picture of the trekkers and you will see 16 pictures. The Amazon holiday I took after the trek was four days of wonder at the animal, butterflies, reptiles, birds and amazing vegetation in the jungle.

The Music Maker's Aim is explained below and I am  so delighted that I have been able to contribute to their fund raising. Please be assured that I paid for the costs and registration of the trek. I wanted a challenge and Music Makers is a really worthwhile reason for taking it on. I had great fun organising the quiz, hopefully spoiling those who won the auctions of a tour of the Palace and game of golf at St George's Hill.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Global Charities - Classic FM Music Makers gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you all for generously  helping me  achieve my target which was much higher than the amount required by Music makers.

The quiz was wonderfully supported by many members and friends. Nicola Cavill, Simon Edmond and Simon Edmond's team won the difficult quiz written by Chris Ronaldson. Richard and Liz Harris' team shared first place with the Weatherills, Newton's, Barker and Phillips 6 in the 40 question long ongoing general knowledge quiz. Ben Matthews and Nick Wood gave a great exhibition of Tennis. The Watsons and Anthony Phillips' help was indispensable. The quiz raised £1200.The silent golf auction was won by Pete Waller and the tour of the Palace by Gareth Quarry.

Many thanks indeed to  Linda Collins who gave my supporters a fantastic lecture on modernism at the Tate Modern on 22nd May. Everybody thought she was not only extremely knowledgeable about the artists , their paintings or sculptures but amusing and fascinating to listen to. Thank you Linda!

The walk up Snowden mainly with family, proved that I needed to train for the climb. Norma and Tadge were hugely kind to open their lovely house to the whole group and we enjoyed the most wonderful lasagne!. Thank you both.  I have progressively climbed more flights of my back stairs each week. I can do 40 flights now (up and down) in one stop and with there being 30 steps and they are each 7 " high that makes 700feet.

Many thanks also to Alison, David,Francis, Sue and Chris who have sent generous charity cheques. Also Sir Donald Gosling ..as Prince Charles wrote..Our National Treasure..

Thanks also to David and Jane Vaughan.always supportive of the Ronaldsons and to all those who have  generously contributed when entering the quiz.

Thanks also to Peter who was the winner of the silent auction for three rounds of golf at St George's Hill. We had a great morning and his guests were charming. I leave next Friday and am very excited about the trip. I shall be thinking of you all but may not send postcards! Forgive me.
