At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

On the 08.05.2011, I will be cutting off my 11 inch long dread locks in order to raise money for the Alzheimers Society.

I have decided to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society as currently there are over 750,000 people suffering with dementia in the UK alone.  It is one of the main causes of disability in later life, ahead of cancer, cardiovascular disease and stroke.  One in three people over the age 65 will die with dementia.

I would love your help in reaching my target of £250 which could help the Alzheimer's society in many areas like funding research into the cause, care, and prevention of dementia and providing better information and support to not only those suffering with dementia, but also for their carers.
