Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance is a dedicated Helicopter Emergency Medical Service in Lincs & Notts. We deliver the equivalent of an A&E department to the scene of an emergency and can transport patients to the most appropriate hospital or Major Trauma Centre for their needs in as little as 8 minutes.

Story

The year 2020 has been a very important year in more ways than one. Amongst other things it has actually taught us about the importance of ‘Life and Living’. We have learnt to cherish our lives and our loved ones even more so with everything happening around us, even though our life has been far from normal.

Whilst Lincs Indian Society (LIS) faces a new challenge of having to find alternate ways of organising our flagship annual event , Diwali 2020, we still want to contribute to our society.  One of the significant aspects of this year’s function is to raise money for a charitable cause and to help an organisation which helps others at the time of their greatest need.

LIS has chosen Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance as our Chosen Charity to raise money for as part of our 'Zoom Diwali 2020' celebration.

We are doing this in honour of one of our very own friend, well-wisher and a wonderful family man. He was not only a LIS member but was also a great asset to the society and helped improve our community a lot.

Naresh or Nash, as he was known to his friends, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on 18th July 2020. There were so many wonderful aspects to his life and he improved others' lives in many different ways. He will be remembered as a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, uncle, cousin, a great friend, and as a friendly and helpful face in the community.

Naresh had a great sense of adventure and loved to travel far and wide. He worked and visited many countries around the world enjoying their culture and history. True to his favourite author/book (Mark Twain / The adventures of Huckleberry Finn) he used to believe that "20 years from now you will be more disappointed in the things that you did not do than the ones that you did".

In Naresh’s memory, we request our friends and members of the society to donate generously towards 'Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance' through this Justgiving page and support this very worthy charity.
