We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

I am doing this with my sister and mother in-law in memory of nanna Mary Magro

For those of you who knew Mary Magro, you would know what a wonderful woman she was. Always putting others first, willing to help everyone, donating to charity, making sure her family were well looked after. She would be found going to Church every day and even when not at church, always saying her prayers.

Unfortunately after years of not feeling well yet still battling on, Nanna was diagnosed with cancer. She was in lots of pain but still insisted on being independent. In the end she had no choice but to have some help. Sadly, 8 months later, Nanna lost her battle to cancer. But even though she may not be with us in person she still remains with us all in spirit.

I'm joining Cancer Research UK's Race for Life this year. Please join the fight by digging deep and sponsoring me - it's quick, easy and totally secure.

Events like this are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create an army that cancer can't ignore. By sponsoring me, we will beat cancer sooner.
