In the last 18 months six special people really close to John and I have been fighting this dreadful disease, and just over 2 years ago our lovely daughter-in-law Jayne lost her brother Gavin to oesophageal cancer at the ripe old age of 35. So no more excuses, This year for the very first time I'm joining the Pink Army and entering the Race for Life. I am about to become the oldest member of Gavlar's Girls.
As you probably all know I have had my own battle with Parkinson's for the last 4 years which means with my wonky legs, that this race will be more like a mini marathon. My running or jogging days are definitely over but walk it, I will.
Please help us to beat cancer, let the new C word be Cure, Cure, Cure.
