Miss a meal a day · 5 December 2017

The Felix Project collects fresh, nutritious food that cannot be sold. We deliver this surplus food to charities and schools so they can provide healthy meals and help the most vulnerable in our society.

Story

The Felix project is a charity collecting surplus, unused food from retailers, they distribute it to charities which donate it to children and adults in and around London. The charity is supporting the 'help a hungry child' Christmas campaign launched by the evening standard and the independent.  I came across this appeal in the newspaper, sitting on a plane, coming back from a Christmas shopping trip, struggling to comprehend the money I'd spent on gifts when there are people out there who are struggling just to buy everyday food items. For the next 7 days I am going to miss breakfast or evening meal, thinking of the 1 in 10 children in the UK who go to school or bed hungry because their parents struggle to provide them with these meals. Hard to believe in this day and age.  The smallest of donations will help, many thanks x
