Story
My name is Liz I am a local person born and bred. I love a challenge and thrive off having a challenge to meet. My next challenge is to trek the inca trail in Peru to the lost city of Manchu Picchu. This is going to be one of my biggest challenges yet, emotionally and physically and yet this is nothing in comparison to those who need the services of the North Devon Hospice. This charity is close to heart after losing my grandfather to lung cancer. The support they offer is second to none and this is why they are my chosen chairty. I need to raise a massive amount of money, which for those who use the services of the North Devon Hospice will be greatly recieved. The trek is a ten day hike with hours of walking each day up steep terrain, including extreme weather conditions not forgetting dealing with the altitude. You can help me with all of this and motivate me onwards by simply giving just a £1 to support my challenge. None of know when we or a loved one may need the services of such places as The North Devon Hospice. So please dig deep now so that this service can continue to be available in our local area for years to come, don't go thinking I dont need it so wont donate - cause we just don't know what might happen in the future, don't let it be too late. The money you donate now helps thousands of people each year at the North Devon Hospice. It enables community nurse specialists make around 6,000 visits each year to provide care, support and advice to people in their homes. They have a purpose built bedded unit offering seven beds of 24hr care to those whos symptons are most serve. The pallative care team offers support and advice in the community wherever the patient may be located, whether at home, in a care home at a community hospital or North Devon District Hospital. Both emotional and spiritual support is also offered to all patients and their loved ones. The teams trained counsellors look-after the well being of everyone involved. It covers the whole of North Devon and as well as cancer patients helps with illnesses such as motor neurone disease, heart failure, alzheimers and lung disease. Your help will make a hugh difference, so am asking you to please help me and support my trek to help others who need these specialist services right now.
