Story
Loch Ness 26 Mile Marathon Charity Swim - for THE WAY AHEAD.
This September, 2011, I plan to take a 2 Week 'Break' at Loch Ness & swim over a number of days the length of Loch Ness (23 miles) & then on
Sat 17th & Sun 18th across the middle (1.5 miles) & back to make a total of 26 miles in aid of THE WAY AHEAD
Charity (supporting children who have suffered brain damage).
Please take time to read attached brochure (below/attached) which explains about the background & aims of the Charity.
Last year I swam 15 Lakes for Christie (Cancer) & raised over £3k & it is my intention to do an annual swim for a given cause
so that my nightly swims at the Kingfisher Health Club, Reddish (Tel 0161 975 5152) have a purpose.
As a 'warm-up' I have entered the Loch Ness Monster One Mile Swim on Saturday 13th August. Other weekends I will be
swimming in the open waters in our magnificent Lake District & Loch Ness to acclimatise myself for the Event.
During the Event I will be basing myself in Fort Augustus & I will be swimming from Lochend to FA along the A82 Northern shoeline of the Loch.
This area of the World including the Caledonian Canal is magnificent & I recommend a visit/holiday there for anybody who has had the pleasure to date.
This poster will be dotted in establishments around FA where-ever they will allow to attract visitors & locals to help promote & sponsor THE WAY AHEAD cause
