Story
This will be the 4th year running Cam Sight are entering a team into the London to Cambridge Bike Ride. Cam Sight clients, volunteers and staff will be riding the 60 miles on a mixture of tandems and regular bikes.
We are based in Cambridge and Chatteris and offer advice, information and practical support to children, young people and adults. Cam Sight provides emotional support and counselling; monthly social groups in villages across the county offering information and advice; visits at home by our community team and volunteers to provide help and company. Our two Low Vision Centres display and demonstrate a wide range of equipment from magnifiers to talking clocks and provide advice and training on specialist and mainstream technology. Cam Sight groups for pre-school children, 6 to 12 year olds and teenagers provide fun, skills and opportunities for parents/carers to gain support and meet each other.
Our tandem cycling service gets our clients out cycling with volunteer pilots. We have access to four tandems at Outspoken Cycles depot on Cowley Road
who we work in partnership with and we have volunteers
who go out with our clients on their own tandems. This is a well used service
that provides people with an accessible way of keeping fit, getting outside and
socialising.
Any amount you can donate will be greatly appreciated and will spur us on to complete the bike ride!
We would like to thank ARM for their continued support and funding of our entry costs.
