Story

RE-TRACING PART OF THE LONG TREK

The walk to be undertaken by Chris Robillard covering about a third of the original trek. Chris is the son of David Robillard who was one of four English POW’s who escaped from a prison in Zevio which is South East of Verona

During the epic trek several Italians helped feed and shelter them.

A key purpose of the trek is to raise funds for the Monte San Martino Trust, who bring young Italians to England. They are from families and areas that helped allied escaped prisoners. They stay for a month and have a chance to attend language schools, they stay near Oxford or in London. 23 bursaries were provided in 2015
