Story

Hi I'm Dr E. Ighodaro but you may call me by my nickname 'Ruz'. I run the instagram page @looong_covid - a page I set up to encourage and connect with other longhaulers (people with Long Covid) largely through humour. It is a lovely community which I am grateful for. I am also grateful to @longcovidsos for advocating for long covid sufferers and providing a wealth of resources about Long Covid.

A bit about me: I caught Covid-19 during the first wave of the pandemic before the vaccines came out whilst working as a 29-year-old junior doctor in a unit admitting Covid-19 patients. At the time I was 2 years into working as a doctor. I now have Long Covid and have been struggling with a number of symptoms mainly fatigue. My life is flipped now and so many aspects have been affected - I am a shadow of my former self in terms of energy. However mentally I am the healthiest I have ever been and I have formed great connections with other longhaulers.

If you are a longhauler, I'm sending you *virtual hugs* - keep going ^_^. If you know a longhauler please find out how you can help - Long Covid is a big deal!

❤Ruz
