Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

UPDATE 24th June - Many thanks to Clive Taylor Clague (£50) and Gilbert Hinkley Charitable Trust (£450) for their generous off-line donations.

UPDATE 28th May 2014 - (See final photo below)
We managed to complete the 100 miles from Sandside in Cumbria to the Transporter Bridge in Middlesbrough in the set 4 days, finishing at 5.30pm on Monday.  The last day proved especially challenging as the feet were under some stress!  Thank you to Will Eyre who was our logistics man on the trip and also walked the majority of the route.  Jim's dog, Hughie, only met us at the end - much as he would have liked to have done the whole trip!  A HUGE thank you to all of you have sponsored us and supported the Emma Maltby Foundation, a fantastic charity.

UPDATE 26th May 2014 -
Evening all. Just finished day three and all carrying injuries, my (Jim) feet are very tender.  Hope to finish tomorrow afternoon in Middlesbrough.  3 photos attached. Thank you all for your fantastic support - incredible!

Tommy, Steve and Jim will be attempting to walk coast to coast (Morecambe Bay to Middlesbrough) in 4 days.

The distance is just over 100 miles.  We will set off on Friday 23rd May and hope to finish on the evening of Monday 26th, equivalent to a marathon per day!

We are walking to raise monies for the Emma Maltby Memorial Fund which helps to pay for the tuition of  Cancer patients between the ages of 4 and 24, whilst they are undergoing treatment in the Leeds Teaching hospitals and the Christie Hospital in Manchester.  With the advances in cancer treatment that have taken place in recent years, many children and young adults can make a full recovery from their illnesses and others survive for several years.  It is very important that they continue with their studies, both to keep them in touch with their peers and to give them a sense of purpose with hope for the future.
We appreciate your support.

Many thanks
Jim, Tommy & Steve
