Equality Action are a Loughborough-based charity, who work to promote Equality and Diversity, dignity and respect through inclusion. They do this by delivering projects for the Leicestershire area. For example, they are currently running the Beyond Lockdown Loughborough East project, which helps people that are isolated, vulnerable and have issues caused by Covid-19. They run other projects to help people in the community deal with physical and mental health problems. They also help disadvantaged groups improve their health and wellbeing as well as their employability skills.  Furthermore, they also run training programmes, give advice e.g. on welfare benefits and do campaigning and lobbying work. Equality Action supports local people from all backgrounds.

To raise money for Equality Action, we are streaming a virtual music event called Loughborough Lockdown Festival. It will feature performances from musicians that are currently studying at Loughborough College. There will be a mix of genres for everyone to enjoy. The event was premiered at 6pm on Wednesday 5th May 2021 but is still available to watch on YouTube. The YouTube link can be accessed below.
