A Better Life. The Migrant and Refugee Crisis: Solutions between Sovereignty and Integration

The Italian Society kicks off the new academic year with an important charity and panel event to raise awareness on the migrant and refugee crisis and listen to the experiences of experts who have been on the field.

Currently, speakers include Rear Admiral Cristiano Aliperta, Maritime Attaché at the Embassy of Italy in the UK and the Italian Alternate Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Pamela DeLargy  Senior Advisor to the U.N. Special Representative for Migration Peter Sutherland, Sanj Srikanthan, the International Rescue Committee (IRC)-UK Director of Policy & Practice and Sohrab Ahmari from the Wall Street Journal who covered extensively the refugee crisis from Greece.

The event will be moderated by LSE Alumna Barbara Serra, presenter and correspondent from Al Jazeera English.

Admission will be on a first-come first-served basis, but in order to participate WE ASK YOUR HELP to support the great work of the UNHCR with a minimum contribution of £15 and, of course, spreading the word!

The suggested hashtag for the event is #abetterlife
