Yeovil Half Marathon 2019 · 31 March 2019 ·
Last spring we found out the most crippling news. At no age of 54 my Aunty was diagnosed with lung cancer and 3 brain tumours. After undergoing some treatment it became apparent that there was nothing further they could do. She was admitted to LOROS where she spent her final weeks.
As a family we spent everyday that summer by her side. The compassion and care the staff at LOROS provided, particularly to Karen and my cousin Mia, cannot be put into words. This devastating time was only made more comforting by the care and support provided by LOROS.
It costs LOROS £8.2 million each year to be able to deliver their services. The NHS provides some money, but they still need to raise at least £6 million each year from the local community.
It is such an amazing place and I really want to do something that can help with providing the same support to patients and their families going through such heartbreaking times.
At the end of March I will be participating in my first ever half Marathon and am looking to raise money to help LOROS continue doing all the good they do. Wish me luck 🏃♀️
