Story

Help more people beat cancer

10/06 - Thank you for coming back to my Race for Life page :) It was perfect weather for the Race for Life event today in sunny Cleethorpes, not too hot, not too cold and not a drop of rain in sight. The course was great too - over Greenwich Meridian line, between the beach and the light railway line towards the leisure centre, then back along Kings Rd, round part of the boating lake and into the Meridian Park for the finish line. Mum and I enjoyed the morning and felt proud to raise money for such a good cause. Thanks so much for your supporting us with your sponsorship, it is much appreciated. Enjoy the rest of the summer xxx

10/05 - Hello and thank you for visiting my Race for Life sponsorship page. :)

This year, on Sunday 10th June, I'll be back in my home town of Cleethorpes for my 6th Race for Life and I'll be taking part with my mum for the first time. We'll be thinking of my mum's dad - my grandad - who's still going strong at 92 thanks to the treatment he's received for prostate cancer - and of other family members and friends who have been affected directly or indirectly by cancer.

Two separate articles in the news caught my attention recently - one about a new laser treatment for prostate cancer which is currently being trialled and another about how scientists have identified 10 different types of breast cancer so once it has been diagnosed, specific treatment can now be given, depending on the type of cancer. This news has given me even more motifivation to raise money for research, the result of which could make such a difference to someone you care about.

Events like Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me now you can help more people survive cancer.

If you prefer to sponsor me in the traditional paper way, just drop me a line! :)
