Story
Dear All,
Firstly thank you making it this far and taking the time to have a look at our sponsor page! On 5th November we are running a gruelling 26.2 miles through five boroughs of New York, starting in Staten Island and finishing in Manhatten's Central Park passing through Brooklyn, Queens and The Bronx. All the money raised will be a huge incentive to train and make it to the finish line and hopefully live to tell the tale!
Cystic fibrosis is a chronic, progressive, and fatal genetic disease of the mucus glands. It affects vital organs in the body, especially the lungs and digestive system, clogging them with sticky mucus, which makes it difficult to breathe and digest food. People with CF typically have a lifespan of about 30 years.
We are running this marathon on behalf of a close friend who has Cystic Fibrosis and is incredible in the way that she has always been determined to never let it affect what she wants to do in life. A fantastic mother (of nearly two!), wife and teacher, she is a very considerate, caring and strong minded friend. With your help we would like to raise money towards improving treatments and facilities for people like Robyn, and also towards finding a cure for this disease.
Donating through this site is pretty simple and secure, It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us if you are a taxpayer as an extra 28% in tax will be added to your sponsorship at no cost to you at all!
This is a joint site for the both of us and we have a huge target to reach so any amount large or small will be much appreciated!
Many thanks for your support.
Lucy and Sarah
