It has been a privilege to work at Gloucestershire Hospitals with the most incredible NHS staff who are dedicated to their patients and the local community..

Their life transforming work touches the lives of many people every day, so before I leave my role at the hospitals I’d like to help to make a lasting impact with a skydive in support of the Gloucestershire Scanner Appeal.

I have never done anything like this before, and while throwing myself out of a plane is a terrifying prospect I know that the funds raised will make a real impact for local patients!

Every penny really will make a difference; the scanner appeal has already funded 3 new CT Scanners to help diagnose patients at the earliest opportunity, reduce waiting times and give better quality imaging.

The ongoing appeal will fund Mobile Digital X-ray Machines which will enable our medical teams to view X-ray images immediately, giving them instant information as they work with patients across the hospitals. This will make an impact for many local patients; including people with urgent medical conditions in critical care, patients with cancer or heart disease, children with serious illness and premature babies who need lifesaving care.
