Story
Hello!
We are Cerys, Emma, Charlie, Kathryn and Rachel. Thanks for coming to our fundraising page. We are a group of second year students from MMU, studying Events Management.
We have the task of creating a live charity event and fundraising for a chosen charity.
From a wide range of charities, we picked Greater Manchester Youth Network! (GMYN)
We felt a real connection to the work and the people that we have met, both staff and young people. We want to work with them to put on an amazing event and do some brilliant fundraising!
Here's some information about GMYN:
Half of the young people in the UK feel like they do not belong to their local communities, one third feel lonely and half feel unready for work.
GMYN's vision is #YoungPeopleCan and they change the lives of young people in Greater Manchester.
They deliver a range of development programmes and drop in activities to help young people learn vital life skills, develop positive wellbeing and build a network of supportive people.
Put simply, the work GMYN does is great, and it's for young people that face some tough challenges. BUT, it needs money to help do it!
Since its founding in 2007, GMYN has helped over 10,000 young people.
