We were fortunate enough to know and spend time with "Grandma Kate", our friend's wonderful Mum, Kokila. She has known us since we were in our teens and latterly doted on our children. She was full of life and always made us feel like part of the family and she is very much missed.

To honour her memory, we are fundraising for Hayward House, where she spent some of her time as she fought cancer. To do this, we are going to participate in this race!!!!  http://runordye.co.uk/

Neither of us has done any running since we had our babies but we think Kate would really approve of this event as she always had a sense of fun.

Hayward House is a specialist palliative care unit in the grounds of the City Hospital. It provides high quality care centred on the needs of patients and their families. Its aim is to enrich the quality of life through the skills of an experienced and caring team. Hayward House offers palliative care from diagnosis, through the interim periods of advancing disease, up to and including end of life care. Patients’ pain and other symptoms are addressed; so too are emotional, spiritual and social problems of both patients and their families. A bereavement/counselling service is also provided.

We feel this is a really worthwhile charity, so please help us to meet our fundraising target.
