Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So whats new..? I've run marathons before..doesn't make them any easier or me any better at running them!

I said never again after London 2011..here we are 5 years later and goodness knows how many hundreds/maybe thousands of miles run! What I do know is that to date, I have raised over £10,000 for charity doing this thing called 'marathon running!' So maybe not
a great runner, but a pretty dedicated fundraiser with amazing friends and family who support me both mentally and by donating a little where they can.

What makes this year different...

Many of you know that I am so lucky and so proud to work for Keech Hospice Care...Dream job to be honest. I speak to people every day who, many of them are dealing and coping with the most unimaginable grief and loss you ever want to think about. This is why I am running. I am running with a very good friend of mine, and also joining us are some runners who have used Keech Hospice Care, whos families are going through that unimaginable grief and loss. These people who I have got to know during their journey and who I have come to like and respect, are the reason and motivation to keep me going. My short term pain, blisters and aching bones are nothing and I feel ashamed to complain.

Keech Hospice Care is truly an amazing place not just to work but for all the people, families,  schools and more,  who we support at the darkest time of their lives. Keech is a children's and adult's hospice in Bedfordshire who make peoples last days, weeks,
months the best they can be, giving them dignity.  You maybe shocked to read that Keech only receive 30% funding from the NHS...so the remaining 70% comes from people like me, and you supporting me. To provide hospice care to Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and
Milton Keynes, which is all free, costs £5.2 million a year....do the maths...! To provide just one hour of nursing care costs £32...I personally spend that without even thinking about it...my target if I acheive it, will provide approx 6.25hrs of nursing
 care.

Keech is so much more than just a hospice where people go to die...if you have read this and are 'strangely intrigued' about what Keech looks like and what they do, please let me know as It would be my privilege to show you round :-)

Thank you for taking the time to read this, maybe you can spare a couple of your hard earned pounds to sponsor me. Xxx
