I’m running the Dublin marathon on the 27th October fundraising for Mind. I’ve chosen Dublin in honour of my Irish uncle Niall and grandad Martin who passed away last year. This is going to be a massive challenge and will probably ruin me for a while as I’m aiming to do it around the 4 hour mark (this may go totally out the window once I’ve upped the distance and just want to finish without crawling). I’m currently training for a half marathon in July and aim to just keep increasing the mileage from there. 

This charity helps support people with mental health problems which is something that has affected my family as well as a lot of friends. One in four people suffer with their mental health and the effects can be debilitating. Seeing the impact on close family and how everyday life is a constant battle, I feel this is a worthy cause to run for. 

There’s not enough support out there with long delays for help. Mind uses fundraising to campaign for better, more accessible services, as well as providing advice and support to ensure no one feels alone.
