Story
To celebrate the second anniversary of me surviving the SCAD heart attack, I will be doing a 50 km trek along the Thames Path on 12th May in support of Beat SCAD. Please support me by donating - thank you!
Beat SCAD is a patient-led charity that aims to support SCAD patients and their families, increase awareness of SCAD and raise funds for research into the condition.

Beat SCAD also funds the Leicester University SCAD Research Team, headed up by Dr David Adlam - the only place in the UK that currently investigates SCAD. I have been participating in these studies since my incident in 2016. Hopefully their research will shed light on the causes of SCAD - a cardiac condition that by and large affects young fit women, often shortly after they have given birth.
Here is some further information about what SCAD is and how it affects people:

The trek is my first time ever fundraising for a charity - it is very exciting to have recovered enough to be able to take part. Having never walked more than 30 km in a day, even at my fittest, this won't be a walk in the park (although technically it will be, in parts.) Thankfully, after two years of convalescing I am feeling sufficiently robust to take on a physical challenge like this and will do my very best to complete it.
Please support me in fundraising for Beat SCAD by donating through my JustGiving page! Any amount is much appreciated - thank you all in advance for your generosity.
You can donate through this page even if you are based outside the UK.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
