Story
15th September 2011. (Would have been Edna's 82nd birthday today)
Many thanks to everyone who sponsored me. It was a lovely day with only a couple of rain showers. I completed the 26.2 miles over the high chalk downs and ridgeways of Wiltshire and Salisbury Plain in 8 and 1/2 hours. I left most of the skin on my left heel and some of my right heel on the downs, so it was a slower and more painful finish than expected, but my legs and the rest of me felt fine!
Together - on and off line - we have raised over £1,200 - I will post the final figure when I have collected all the monies. A heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed towoards this impressive sum. A great tribute to Edna and a great result for the Alzheimer's Society.
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!

Many of you will know that my mother in law Edna sadly passed away peacefully at home on 19th February 2011 at the age of 81 years. Edna was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease less than 10 years ago.
The Alzheimer's society was a huge help to us through all the stages of Edna's journey. They provided advice, information, help and a friendly voice on the end of the phone - they were a support both to Edna and to the family. This is a fantastic charity and I want to thank them for helping us to help Edna to stay at home where she wanted to be.
