Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This is Maisie, Age 6. On 15th April, Maisie collapsed during a swimming lesson at William Penn Leisure Centre, after being pulled out of the pool she was rushed to Watford General Hospital where they diagnosed Maisie with a heart condition called Long QT Syndrome.
Long QT Syndrome is a disturbance of the hearts electrical signal that can cause an abnormally fast heart rhythm which can then cause fainting and sometimes causes sudden death. The treatment for Long QT involves daily medications. For Maisie she has to take beta blockers which slows her resting heart rate therefore reducing the risk of a fast heart rhythm occuring.
I have organised a fundraising party on 30th July at Evergreen Football Club, Abbots Langley. The evening is to raise money so that I can get Maisie an Automated External Defibrillator, which could save her life in the event of a cardiac arrest. I am also hoping to raise enough money that I can supply Evergreen with the same as my son George is very much involved with the club. If you are able to come along on the evening that would be great, if you cannot and you would like to help in raising the amount needed then please dig deep and donate now.
