The Charity I am raising fund for is called Staffy Smiles Rescue and I am proud to support them. Last year while I was in Africa my boyfriend decided to foster for them and this is how Maximus ended up in our life....permanently as it turned out we are too soft to give him away :-). As with most staffies needing help from Staffiesmiles he didnt have the best start in life and he likely would have been put to sleep at a young age(2!!!!!) if the charity would not have stepped in. Things are brighter now for Maxi but there are a huge amount of staffies facing a grim future out there right now.
The 3 staffies in the picture are Maximus, Jasper and Jude all adopted
by my boyfriends family....yes you can get addicted to staffies.... and they were lucky to find loving homes.
However staffies are popular as dogs for illegal fights and often get abused. As they are seen as "tough" breed they often end up in the hands of the wrong people and once shown that they are no fighters end up being used as bait or just left/ put into kennels/rehoming centres. They struggle with kennel environment and often are not peoples "first choice" to adopt even though they are lovely natured and got those amazing smiles :-D.. The impact that this charity has in those dogs lifes is huge and a lot of them would have crossed the rainbow bridge a long time ago if staffiesmiles would not have stepped in. The costs to taking a dog in including vet treatment etc is easily 450 pounds per dog!!!, a lot for a small charity. So raising 500 for them would mean one more happy future for a dog that deserves a second chance.
Even the smalles donation will help, so if you read this and even can spare as little as 3 pounds.... the equivalent of a bad starbucks coffee...., then please help (more is even better :-))
AND REMEMBER Adopt dont shop!
