We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Why am I putting myself through all of this?! Because of the bravest young man, its ever been my privilege to know, our son Tom White. Sadly Tom died of cancer in February, 2005 at the age of just 23. Not once did he complain about the unfairness of his condition; not once did he complain about the indignities; not once did he complain about the pain;  put simply, not once did he complain.

When he was with other youngsters he inspired them to fight their cancers and to keep their heads up.But on one occassion his morale dropped, when he had to undergo chemotherapy in a ward where all the other patients were over 70. It struck us then that youngsters with cancer have very special needs and these need to be addressed.

Which is exactly what Teenage Cancer Trust are doing. They are a relatively new charity, but take it from me they are doing absolutely the right thing in providing specialised units for 13 - 24 year olds. PLEASE try and help them. Kate and I (and a great group of Saffron Walden people) are trying really hard to raise £100,000 for the Addenbrookes appeal. PLEASE help!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Teenage Cancer Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Many thanks
