Story

This is Alicia Roa.  My beautiful Goddaughter.  She had Cystic Fibrosis.   She died Tuesday 17th May.  She was 10.  She had been in and out of hospital a lot throughout her short life, and even though I knew about Cystic Fibrosis and how it affected her, I never thought for one minute that we would lose this gorgeous little girl, so soon.  I am devastated, and I am only her god mother, I cant even begin to imagine how her mum, dad, little brother and the rest of her family are coping with her loss.  She died in Great Ormond Street Hospital on Tuesday 17th May.  From here Alicia and her family were taken to Chase at Christopher hospice, where they were gathered up and looked after.   I want to raise awareness for this wonderful charity.  I went there on Friday, 3 days after Alicia died.  The family were staying in one of the family flats, and Alicias little body was in one of the bedrooms.  As you can imagine it was very emotional, but I was able to go in and say my goodbye to her.  She was tucked up in a bed with her teddies in a room full of flowers, in a very cool room and looked incredibly peaceful.  The family were able to go in and see her, and to try and say their goodbyes.  Chase offer respite for families with very sick children, children who are not expected to live beyond 19!  It is a wonderful, colourful place, with so many facilities for the children and the families.  All the people working there are volunteers, except for the nurses, and rely on donations.  So I am asking you to join me in giving a donation to this wonderful charity.

Donations will be given in Alicia's name, any amount will be gratefully received and don't forget to add Gift Aid too.

Thank you
