On 27th August 2008 our daughter Ria was born sleeping
In her memory i will be doing a 5k charity fun run in Greenwich on 7th December 2008 , to make it more fun dressed as Santa
We have been deeply hurt in losing our baby and so want to help the charity SANDS who offer support for parents and families who have had similar losses to ours
I am very greatful any money you can donate . 17 babys everyday in the uk are stillborn or die during or soon after birth and even if we can help save one babys life it will go along way in easing the pain of losing Ria
24/10/08 10 am I am so thankful to everyone who has sponsored me so far we set a original target of £500 that has been done in a day so now we are going for a £1000 , the response has been amazing and me and Sandeep are both so grateful x
24/10/08 4.30pm Completely speechless over the very generous donations and support we have now hit the £1000 target , SANDS is a very worthy cause and we hope to do our very best to help it, that is why we are aiming higher, £1500, we owe it to all the angel babies (including Ria) to those who have given so far thank you very much x x
30/10/08 5.45pm A massive thank you again to those who have donated so far. We have hit our £1500 target, which is a massive shock to us both and has touched us deeply. Baby Ria means the world to us and and doing this for her is one of the few things we can do for our baby girl as parents that is why we are setting our goals higher to £2000. x x x
10/11/2008 5pm We've raised the £2000 target, after only having a £100 target set by SANDS to begin with, we have now exceeded that beyond our expectations. We are continuing the fund raising and hope people will still donate and we can smash the target as there are many people who have promised to donate. A big big thank you to you all x x x x
04/12/2008 2.30pm We've managed to raise over £2500, which is a straggering amount. This all started as a small tribute to our daughter and we thought we'd raise a couple of hundred for SANDS, we never imagined it would end up topping four figures. Without the support of everyone involed, especially those who have given, none of this would have happened. Also on the back of this we have attracted media interest in local papers and radio stations, which is fantastic as it makes many many more aware of SANDS and what it is about. Again a very very big thank you x x x x x
10/12/2008 We did it! the run was very emotional and my angel carried me through, i did a personal best time but really thank you very much everyone i did the easy bit, the real stars are all you lovely people that have donated to make all this worth while. Following the success of the run here is a article featured in the Birmingham Mail it was also featured in the Express and Star ,Sandwell Chronicle and Beacon Radio
