Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2022 · 28 May 2022 to 29 May 2022 ·

Our work is delivered by young people, for young people, giving them the skills and resources to lead change.

Story

Geordie, Zach and Charlie will be running the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday the 29th of May 2022 in aid of Restless Development, who have set us the huge target of raising £6,000!!! What is more, Restless are backed by The Power Up Appeal, meaning any donations will be matched by the UK government, so let's rinse Dishy Rishi for an incredible cause!

We are full of excuses, probably underprepared, and usually injury riddled, but after a week's "altitude training" in the Alps, training is re-intensifying and the boys are raring to go. Spurred on by the thoughts of our summer bodies, a night out in Edinburgh, and most of all, an amazing cause, we are hoping to run the 26.2 miles as fast as Scotland's Bank Holiday sunshine will let us.

Restless Development is a non-profit that mentors, resources, and connects thousands of young people each year to enhance the collective power of young leaders and create a better world. Their grassroots approach has four primary impact areas: voice and democracy, education and livelihoods, gender and sexual rights, and climate justice. Hosting a growing collective of almost 4,000 youth organisations across 185 countries, Restless are providing young people the resources and training to make change themselves. We hope you agree as much as we do that removing barriers to education and community development is an incredibly worthwhile cause.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated to reach our huge target, and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible as we bound the cobbled streets of Edinburgh.

With love,

Charlie, Geordie, and Zach x

P.S. Restless Development is backed by The Power Up Appeal, so anything* raised from this challenge from now until 6th June will be doubled by the UK government! *Only public donations made by UK residents.

The Power Up Appeal: Everything you donate will be matched!

The power of education can be life changing, helping girls shape their own future, on their terms. Through training and support for out of school girls and their communities, the Power Up Appeal is helping to make sure more girls in Sierra Leone and around the world can claim the education and opportunities they have a right to.

Thank you so much for your support!
