Story

Walkingthebeat Year 8 part two

Steve and myself will be taking part in this challenge, starting Saturday 28th July at 11.30am.

The aim is to complete the ultra marathon in 24hours, running through the night with maps to navigate the course with check in points along the route.

The Lakeland 50 is one the greatest ultra running and walking challenges in Europe, perhaps the world.
The Lakeland 50 is it's almost double the distance of a marathon, it's on rough terrain and  there's approximately 3100m of ascent to deal with, there is no 'easy option' available. The  Lakeland 50 is a huge challenge, it requires commitment, drive and the ability to 'just keep going' when most folk would 'just rather not'.
