Thank you for taking a look at my fundraising page.
Commencing 20 July 2009, I will be spending a week attempting to climb up and down the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro – the highest mountain in Africa – to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Kilimanjaro stands 19,341 feet (that’s 5,895 metres!) high and 60 by 40 miles wide. I plan to spend 5 days ascending the mountain, travelling through bushland, forest, alpine, and arctic ecosystems.
I will be walking for up to 15 hours a day; sleeping in a tent; facing a vast range of temperatures, -25C to 30C. There’s no doubt it will be a major physical and mental challenge. But one I am hugely looking forward to taking on.
My chosen charity to benefit from my attempt, is one close to my heart, as I know it is for so many people. Cancer Research UK has been at the forefront of progress in cancer research for over a century. Their ground-breaking work has already led to life-saving changes, and any donation you make will help them continue to make great strides improving the way cancer is prevented, diagnosed and treated.
I am so grateful for any donation you are able to give.
Thanks for your support
Marc
P.S. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
I am fully funding the cost of the trip so all donations will go straight to the charity.
