Just Giving
This just giving page has been created for those who wish to donate money in my husband’s
memory. Marc was a wonderful man who died on 5
th
October whilst driving his beloved Austin A40
at Castle Coombe race circuit. He died having suffered a heart attack whilst at the wheel, the car
taking him safely into an infield of corn. This was Marc’s second heart attack, the first one occurred in
February 2017 after he had been out riding one of his motor bikes with some friends, they found him
struggling at the side of the road and took him to Newbury Hospital who immediately transferred
him, by ambulance to the Royal Berkshire Hospital (RBH).
On arrival a team of nurses and Doctors took him into the cardiac lab and inserted 3 stents and
basically saved his life, giving him almost 3 years of living to enjoy. We are all so grateful to the
Cardiac Care Unit at the RBH for giving us these last few years with Marc and felt it would be a lovely
thing to ask for donations to go to this amazing charity. Marc would have wanted local people to
have benefitted, one of his standard phrases was, “you need to pay it forward”, our family hope that
you will agree with this sentiment and help others to survive in Marc’s memory.
We have a massive hole in our lives and will miss Marc every day. He was our rock, our fixer, the love
of my life and our children’s hero. He was taken too young but we take comfort in knowing that he
died doing something he loved with people around who loved him.
We would like to thank you for supporting this charity in Marc’s memory, it is wonderful to know
that some good can be born out of our loss.
