Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Yes that is me, only 22 years ago on the right with an old friend, Michael McNish crossing the finishing line of the London Marathon in 1987 (Paula Radcliffe had not achieved her 14th birthday).
March 22nd, 2009 will see me trying to run the 26.2 miles once again but this time in Tokyo. Some additional weight in the intervening years will hinder my progress but this is compensated for by reduced wind resistance due to less hair on my head, who knows it could be a quick one.
Now to spur me on I would like you to consider sponsoring me as I am looking to raise funds for the British Stammering Association. My sister volunteered there for many years as trustee and as chairperson. The BSA provides people with support and the information they need to help prevent the negative effects of stammering. In the case of a young child, access to BSA’s information means that the child gets the therapy they need to prevent them ever suffering from the symptoms of stammering again. In older children and adults, the charity can inform them on therapy courses, employment issues and where stammering falls within the law. Most importantly, BSA provides support on the emotional effects on stammering and provides advice on how to live with a stammer. This makes a huge difference to the individual and helps challenge social isolation, fear and helplessness.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The British Stammering Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me, thankyou.
