Marfan syndrome is a disorder of the body's connective tissue, affecting the eyes, heart and skeleton. As the sole charity in the UK dedicated to improving and saving the lives of those with the syndrome we provide personalised support, undertake research into improved treatments, & raise awareness.

Story

Marfan's Syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects the connective tissue of the body in multiple ways but primarily the skeleton, heart, blood vessels and eyes. Unfortunately there is no cure and treatment is limited. Because it is a rare illness facts are limited, which makes helping those with the disorder extremely difficult.

For people with Marfan's every day there is pain of some kind. Not knowing what is going to happen to their bodies next is a constant worry.

I suffer from Marfan's Syndrome myself and know how hard the illness is to live with and deal with on a day to day basis.

I am now looking to do all I can to help raise funds to research the causes of Marfan's, as well as hopefully one day find a cure, as well as helping to raise the awareness of Marfan Syndrome.

I have set up this fundraising page to raise money during Marfan's Awareness Month, with all funds raised going to the Marfan Trust.
