Great Scottish 10K · 13 April 2009

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, situated in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow, exists to help our patients achieve the best quality of life possible in whatever time remains for them. Where it may not be possible to add days to lives, we aim to add life to days for patients and their families.

Story

Well everyone, I just want to say a huge thank you to you all for donating. I completed the 10k in 1:20, with the great support of Uncle Paul and Natalie to get me through! Thank you for understanding just how important this cause is to me. My Granny was so important to me and I miss her every single day. I am honoured to have done this in her memory.

Thanks again,

Marianne x

In November last year, my Granny was diagnosed with lung cancer with a secondary tumour in her brain. At the time, she was given 6 weeks to live. She was a remarkable fighter but unfortunately lost her fight on 20th April 2009. Through her battle with cancer, she received care at the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow. This was amazing for both her and for my family and we couldn't have got through the past few months without the kindness of the staff and the comfort the Hospice provided for my Granny. I am running the Great Scottish 10K in Glasgow on the 6th September 2009. It is only a 10K but for those of you who know me, it might as well be a marathon!! I am hoping to raise at least £1000 for the Hospice and would really appreciate if you could help me do this! Please donate whatever you can, anything, big or small will make a difference! The hospice is a registered charity and all care is free. It relies heavily on the support of volunteers and must raise £6,000 everyday to keep their doors open, so please any sponsorship is appreciated. Thanks again for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice - Glasgow gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
