Offering lifelong support to the Royal Marines Family.

Story

3 Commando Brigade Royal Marines are returning from yet another tour of Afghanistan and it has changed all the guy's lives in different ways. The Royal Marines Charity is there to support Royal Marines, past and present and their families.  It may be help for the children of a marine who has given his life for his country; it may be assistance for a marine who has suffered a life changing  injury on operations - physical or mental; or it may just be support for the marines and their families when they are deployed.

Commando Logistic Regiment has just returned from Afghanistan and now a team of 10 guys from the Regiment are going to 'speed march' The Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC on Sunday 30th October to raise funds for the Royal Marines Charity. A 'speed march' is one of the commando tests to earn the coveted Green Beret of Commando Forces and involves moving quickly across ground in uniform and boots carrying 32lbs - normally only 9 miles and we are going to do 26 miles. Some of the guys have prepared by running a marathon around the perimeter of Camp Bastion in Afghanistan. Some trained running the Lympstone - Poole race, each running 44 miles over two days with about 3000 feet of climbing on the South West coastal path. All have sweated blood and tears so please dig deep to support this worthy cause.
