I have been linked with St Margaret's hospice for over 10 years. I worked there during my training as a GP which was a really good experience. Over the last 8 years the team at St Margarets's have been a great resource of help and support to me as a GP at North Petherton and in the middle of the night during my out of hours shifts. I am so gratfeful we have the hospice network throughout the UK, we are so privileged to have such an excellent service in Somerset.  It is a great inheritance from the many who have so generously given in the past to make it what it is today.  A Big thank you to Maggie  our community nurse from St Margaret's....you are a star...thank you for being there on a Friday afternoons when things always seem to come to a bit of a head  and to Faith at the hospice ...your enthusiasm, hard work and compassion are inspirational. 

I find being a doctor hugely enjoyable and love being at North Petherton. Being part of people's lives who are in the midst of fighting cancer or other life limiting conditions is humbling. I am constantly amazed by the  courage and dignity of those facing such issues and the wonderful families and friends who have cared with such love. It is a real privilege to be a part of these times and their stories have shaped and inspired me. Running the marathon is my chance to do something I love and give back and remember so many folk over the years . I am grateful for the good health I have and the one thing being a doctor teaches you is never to take it for granted!

St Margaret's would not exist and cannot continue to exist without us giving. I feel honoured to run for them and all the amazing people I get to meet in this job. Thank you for allowing me to raise money for this great cause
