MARK'S 100 MILE FUND RAISING PAGE

Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 2016 · 31 July 2016 ·
Thank you very much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Towards the end of March 2016, my amazing father, Richard Gatty Saunt (a.k.a. Taid, Tidy, Tiny, Dicky etc.), was diagnosed with an inoperable and incurable metastatic pancreatic cancer. It sadly took many, many months of agonising pain and multiple tests from various specialists to come to this grim conclusion.
My dear Papa was too weak for any chemotherapy drugs and he very sadly passed away, peacefully, on Tuesday 26th April at 19:05, with his family by his side, at the family home.
Throughout the last few weeks of his life, my father was professionally cared for at home by the nurses from St Catherine’s Hospice (Crawley). They came twice a day and were nothing short of amazing. Their compassion and care was faultless. They are all angels.
Therefore, I have decided to race for and raise money for St Catherine’s Hospice (Crawley), who must raise a minimum of £5.5 million annually to fund their amazing work.
My chosen event is the annual Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100, taking place on 31.07.2016 and I'm aiming for a race time of 5hrs 30mins. My average speed over 100 miles (with leg-testing climbs) needs to be a minimum of 29.2608 kmh (18.1818 mph).
In advance of any donation you can kindly make, on behalf of all the Gatty Saunt family, thank you so very much for whatever you can do to help.
