I’ve known Martin for 25 years having first met at Barclays where he took me under his wing. When Martin was caught up in the Manchester bomb, I still recall to this day the anguish of the one tick on WhatsApp when I asked “Martin, is all ok?”. Fast forward 4 years and Martin has achieved more than I think he ever felt possible. I’m inspired by him every day and when he announced he was going to climb Kilimanjaro I foolishly asked if I could too!! A bit of to and fro-ing and all was agreed. I will climb with him!! The climb was originally planned for Sept 2021 but was put back till June 2022 owing to COVID and travel restrictions but the fundraising started with a hike along the West Highland Highway over 5 days and has continued throughout. I’m determined to help Martin raise the £1m and will be so proud when he does reach this target because he will!! If you know him, you know he won’t stop. This isn’t about me, this is about an extraordinary human being in Martin Hibbert. We will do this together but make no bones about it, when Martin eventually reaches the summit - it’s all for him and Eve! All support appreciated.
