It's a shame that Cancer Research UK has never read Susan Sontag's famous book Illness as Metaphor otherwise they would have stopped using war and military metaphors in their campaigns. Also the pink onslaught is really retrogressive in my opinion and reinforces stereotypical views of women. Instead, we will focus on how potentially empowering the Race for Life event can be for women and girls and will run together and remember my sister and Audrey's aunt, Mavis Henry, who passed away on June 3, 2011.
