Story
London to Amsterdam by bike (and ferry) for the Lessons for Life
Foundation!
On June 23rd I'll be cycling from London to Harwich (130 km / 82 miles). Overnight we sail to Hoek van Holland; on June 24rd we'll head for Amsterdam (adding at least another 98 km / 62 miles to the clock).
I'll be taking up this challenge in a team with 6 colleagues. Altogether 500 people will be taking part in this event, over 5 routes across 6 countries.
We will be cycling in support of Lessons for Life
Foundation, which is an independent charity that focuses on providing
educational scholarships to children orphaned or affected by AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa
to access primary, secondary and polytechnic or college. The money raised
will go directly towards Lesson's for Life's "Send me to School"
appeal - raising the vital funds needed to get 50,000 kids in Africa into
school by 2017.
The Big Ride for Africa aims to raise over GBP 2m (EUR 2.8m) which will provide essential support to 20,000 kids from some of the toughest places in Africa.
I would be grateful for your contribution!!
