We offer care, support and information to anyone affected by breast cancer

Story

Welcome to my JustGiving page

Back in 2006 my mum, Bridie was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went through the course of chemotherapy for six months followed by six weeks of radiotheraphy. At 17 I traveled to and from the hospital most days to witness her go through the chemotherapy treatment. I remember her constantly being fatigued as each dosage took its toll. Though noticing all her hair fall out and watch her become very poorly affected me the most and hit the family hard.

However since then she has been in good health, she has annual mammogram screenings and has the all clear news on every occasion which is music to everyone’s ears.

I just want to applaud the great work the Macmillan Breast Care Nurses perform day in day out, the commitment, delicacy and patience to their patients is incredible and should be highly commended. So in support I have decided to participate in the Copenhagen Marathon on 19th May 2013 to raise as much money as I possibly can for Breast Cancer Care.

Your Donations will contribute towards -

£2 pays for a headscarf set, helping to boost the confidence of a woman who has lost her hair as a result of her breast cancer treatment.

£10 pays to provide a comprehensive, easy-to-understand information pack for someone newly diagnosed with breast cancer.

£52 pays for a personal appointment with our HeadSrong service to help women cope with the distress of hair loss from cancer treatment.

£132 pays to connect someone going through brest cancer with a trained volunteer who has had a similar experience to them.

All your generosity will be very much appreciated so all there is left to say is            Get Donating!

Thankyou.
