In memory of Martin Kemp
We provide average grants of £150 to help people to get the essentials they need the most. We issue the grants directly to charities and local council teams, usually within three days of receiving a grant application.

Story

A solicitor by profession and a musician by nature, Martin believed in and stood up for fairness and justice. He took an active part in the community, serving as a mediator, school governor, committee member and charity trustee. He accepted everyone as he found them and tirelessly helped people from all over the world and from all walks of life. Throughout his life he advocated for understanding, consensus and resolution.

We are fundraising for Cambridge Aid to support the charity's effort in providing practical rapid grants to disadvantaged people in Cambridge and surrounding areas. Cambridge Aid help local people in crisis by giving them a one-off grant of up to £200 to get the essentials they need the most. The charity issues grants, usually within three days of receiving an application, through a network of over 40 charitable organisations and local council teams who act as sponsors. These include Cambridge & District Citizens Advice, Cambridge and Cambridgeshire Social Services, Jimmy's Cambridge, Women's Resources Centre, Mental Health Foundation Trusts, and the Red Hen Project. These rapid practical grants form part of the support provided by Cambridge Aid's partner organisations in helping the most vulnerable reduce the hardship they face. For more information please see www.cambridgeaid.org.
